Fractions form the backbone of GCSE maths, appearing in nearly every paper. Students must be confident adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, as well as converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers.
AlgebraLinear equations are one of the most frequently tested algebra topics at GCSE level. Students must isolate the unknown variable by applying inverse operations, handling brackets and fractions along the way.
AlgebraQuadratic equations appear throughout the higher tier GCSE paper and are a significant step up from linear equations. Students need to factorise, complete the square, and use the quadratic formula to find solutions.
GeometryPythagoras' theorem relates the three sides of a right-angled triangle and is one of the most practical geometry topics at GCSE. It is used in 2D and 3D problems, coordinate geometry, and combined with trigonometry at higher tier.
NumberPercentages link directly to fractions and decimals and are tested extensively across all exam boards. Questions range from simple percentage-of-an-amount calculations to reverse percentages and repeated percentage change problems at higher tier.
ProbabilityBasic probability introduces the scale from 0 to 1 and the idea of equally likely outcomes. Students calculate probabilities of single events, understand mutually exclusive events, and work with the probability that something does not happen.

Our 15-minute diagnostic quiz is designed to identify specific knowledge gaps in your child's maths understanding. It covers key topics from the curriculum and adapts based on their responses. After completion, you'll receive a detailed report showing exactly which areas need attention, which helps us match you with the perfect tutor and create a personalised learning plan.
We cover all major UK exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR for both GCSE and A-Level maths. Each tutor specialises in specific exam boards, so we match your child with someone who knows the exact syllabus, question styles, and marking schemes they'll face in their exams.
All our tutors go through a rigorous vetting process. They must have a minimum 2:1 degree in Mathematics or a related field, provide verified references, and pass an enhanced DBS check. Many are qualified teachers or have examining experience. We also conduct subject knowledge assessments and trial lessons before they join our platform.
